My first few days in Napier were pretty uninteresting to be honest. Sunday was our day to relax before jumping back into the swing of our study abroad program. I pretty much just chilled at the hostel, went grocery shopping, and video chatted with my parents.
On Monday morning we had internship orientation and got to meet some of the Massey faculty behind all of our emails. After lunch everyone left to go to their internship sites except me because Dzidra was in the process of traveling back to NZ from Australia. I loaded my dirty clothes into my backpack and headed down to the local laundromat in hopes that it would be cheaper than the hostel (it unfortunately wasn't) and then wandered around Napier a little bit. Besides wandering into a few shops I found one of the hidden quotes, strolled through a garden, and enjoyed the ocean. Eventually I returned to my hostel and actually did my laundry.

I was supposed to start my internship on Tuesday but Dzidra caught a bug on her plane ride home and so I ended up sitting around the hostel all day. It was cold and rainy outside, so it honestly wasn't so bad not having to go work outside. I worked on my case synthesis paper and goofed around on the internet while watching some movies. Alise and I also had a major blond moment and failed to figure out the coin operated dryer for a solid 2 minutes. I think the pictures are fairly self-explanatory.
